A bit about me and why I started Travel Cook Chris. The Travel Cook Chris Story.
I have spent my whole life excited by food, travel and eating as much as I could along the way. I have been traveling full-time now since December 2015 and love it! All the new food experiences have made me want to cook more and more.
Until May 2016 I had mainly been kitchen less, staying mainly in hotel rooms. I never thought I would get tired of eating out. Well I loved it but I really missed cooking and trying to recreate some of the flavours I had tasted. I did a little cooking, in a range of appliances but nothing that cut the mustard.
18th May 2016. What a date. I arrived to my AirBnb apartment in Paris with an amazing kitchen. This marked a massive turning point. From this date forward I have at least some form of kitchen! I love hotels too but am convinced that if food is a passion, you love seeing traditional markets and fresh produce, then book accommodation with kitchens so you can buy those amazing looking asparagus that catch your eye.
I travel carry on luggage only. This is not for everyone but travelling lighter is something that can benefit anyone. I aim to try and test the perfect ways to cook whilst travelling carry-on only. This has its challenges but is a journey I will share my breakthroughs, tips and also my mistakes.
